Locus Athens is a curating duo exploring locality through a diverse range of art projects in and around the city of Athens. We were commissioned to design the brand identity of their new home in the neighbourhood of Tavros in Athens.

Driven by the team’s conceptual approach, we were inspired from the character of this new location. The name Tavros was given as a reference to the original land of the first inhabitants, the mountainous region Tavros in Turkey (Toros Dağları) who arrived in the 1920’s. Nowadays, Tavros is a diverse area where large-scale corporations, small scale industries, non-governmental and cultural organisations, schools, and the 1950’s refugee houses stand side by side.

The logo features an illustration of the mountain Tavros as a tribute to this amazing history, reminding the glorious origin and emphasizing on the potential of a place like Tavros.
